Russian Nuclear Company NIAEP Powered by Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE Platform
NIAEP and Dassault Systèmes Create the First 3D Digital Nuclear Plant Management Model
VELIZY-VILLACOUBLAY, France and MOSCOW, Russia — October 25, 2012 — Dassault Systèmes (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), the 3DEXPERIENCE Company, world leader in 3D design software, 3D Digital Mock Up and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, today announced completion of the first phase of its strategic partnership with NIAEP, the state company of Rosatom, a leading Russian nuclear power plant engineering procurement and construction company in Russia and abroad. Using 3DEXPERIENCE platform’s applications (CATIA, ENOVIA and DELMIA), NIAEP developed a technology called “Multi-D”, which simulates business processes and enables to carry out detailed modeling of construction and installation processes based on 3D data. The result is reduced construction time and costs and better work efficiencies, quality and safety of NIAEP-designed plants.
“Based on Dassault Systèmes’ unique platform, we developed a solution that would integrate process engineering, design and construction in a unified digital nuclear power plant model,” said Valery Limarenko, JSC NIAEP Director. “Previously, there was no system that could seamlessly integrate the work of designers, process and construction engineers in the world. Now, with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform we have an integrated environment for collaboration. The CATIA application will automate engineering documentation creation and serve as the source for Multi-D’s construction optimization process.”
NIAEP is the first company to develop a 3D digital nuclear plant management model, which will have features for integrated design management, in particular for the creation and modification of a 3D model, construction management, field engineering, purchase and supply management, as well as facility commissioning and operation decommissioning. NIAEP is using the new platform to develop a nuclear power plant based on power units compliant with the VVER-TOI standard.
“I’m excited to see how innovators can imagine and create with our 3DEXPERIENCE platform. NIAEP’s forward-looking management approach is an amazing showcase demonstrating how even complex engineering fields such as nuclear power are looking at experience strategies for their business," said Monica Menghini, Executive Vice President, Industry and Marketing, Dassault Systèmes. “NIAEP’s strategy to become the world leader in nuclear plant construction coupled with our own industry focus has led Dassault Systèmes to develop a game- changing industry solution experience ‘Optimized Plant Construction’. It will enable energy companies to optimize capital expenditures, accelerate time to first fuel or startup, and increase return on investment. On time, on budget. This is what I call a business experience.”
